For so long I did the self-sabotage dance with my health – one step forward, two steps back. I’d stay on a fruit diet for 50, even 55 days – looking great and sensing the healing beginning. But when my body was ready to go into deep cleansing mode – and it seemed to happen right before the 60 day point – I’d give in to a small temptation and shortly thereafter, spiral down into what I call “false deprivation justification”. Basically, justifying everything bad I put into my mouth or overeating, because afterall “didn’t I just go two months eating only fruit”. Then I’d justify eating the onion rings or something worse. The shame and disappointment of “perceived failure” and subsequent verbal self-abuse can become all-consuming. “What’s wrong with me”, “why can’t I stay focused”, “I saw this person or that person on YouTube and they did it – Why can’t I”? (Comparisons are also another way we self sabotage, of course). But the reality is – it’s all progress – the twists and turns and detours. So how do you mitigate self-sabotage? Here are some things that I had to implement in order to get to my health breakthrough. I hope they can help you as well: 1. KNOW THAT YOU ARE WORTHY. Believing that you deserve wellness in your body and spirit is EVERYTHING. Choose to believe that you were not meant to suffer under illness. Expect vitality, boundless energy, and clear thought. No matter your age or condition. The essence of your spirit is free and does not know illness. Tap into your spiritually inherent right to perfect health. 2. REDEFINE SUCCESS. Success won’t look the same for you everyday. There is an ebb and flow to everything. Detoxification is the same. Some days will feel effortless to eat your fruit and drink your juice. You’ll feel energized and invincible with strong willpower. Then there will be days of healing crises (your body’s reaction to toxin releases) so uncomfortable that they may trick you into thinking that your health is getting worse, not better. But a healing crisis is a time for celebration. They signal the health breakthough you’ve been seeking. Those uncomfortable times actually determine your success, not the easy days. Knowing that they are expected and facilitate deeper healing will help you avoid giving up too soon. 3. LOOK FOR INSPIRATION. Healing your body does take desire and discipline, and it’s okay to get a little assistance. Find the motivation where you can. It doesn’t have to be in the form of another person on a similar journey. Maybe someone less fortunate than you. Or a cause bigger than you. Perhaps you can dedicate your journey to a charity that’s dear to your heart. 4. RECALL PRIOR SUCCESS. Think back to times in your past when you met a challenge head-on and succeeded despite the obstacles or odds. Knowing that you successfully managed and removed a road block in your past reminds you that you can apply that same mindset when it comes to your health today. 5. MARATHON VS SPRINT. Be realistic about the time that it may take to reach your health goals. Don’t be discouraged when you don’t see the improvements you hoped for as fast as you wanted. Detoxifying and regenerating the body is not an instant gratification process. We often hope that healing is a one or two month process, when in actuality it may be a one or two year process. However, when you can look back over the long distance – minor setbacks will seem insignificant compared to your overall gains. 6. THERE IS AN END GOAL. Your body won’t always be in “healing mode”. The goal of detoxification of the body is to remove stagnation and blockages, restore function to systems in the body, and to reach a balance in which your body can sufficiently eliminate the toxins and wastes it creates and encounters without being overloaded. And althought it may take longer than you expect, it won’t take forever. All of your favorite “cheats” will always be there for you to enjoy, so on those tough, temptation-filled days you can say to yourself “I can eat those “blankity-blanks” after I’m back in balance”. But by then you will have the knowledge of how illness is created and you will be able to make an enlightened choice. You may even choose to say no.  Tamera at detoxyourway.com

So many men are amazing fathers. They do their best and they deserve our support and love. My own father passed of a congenital heart condition before I was 4 years old. I know as a woman I am still living with the void it has left in my life. So all the great Fathers out there. Putting it all on the line for their children – We salute you. We value you in our lives and we want you to be healthy and strong. If you already eat healthy – Bravo! If you know you need a little more fruit and veggies in your life – then Eat Up! No one can replace you and your health is vital. Enjoy this day!

In order to feed our spirit and body we must nurture ourselves with Conscious food. So what’s considered conscious food? It is food that has life and gives life. Conscious Food is Living. Raw. Electric. And provides the highest most available and easily digested nutrition to the cells in our body. Naturally this includes the highest vibrational food – Fruit and vegetables. Food that is cooked, processed, from animal sources are the least electric and conscious. Those foods have been “killed” through heat, industrialized, or not meant for human consumption anyway. I love the saying “Pay your Farmer and not your Pharmacist”. It accompanies the image above. When you consume foods from the earth. That has fallen from the trees at their moment of ripeness to attract us much like the flowers to the bees. – we are truly living from nature’s bounty and following natural laws of medicine and healing. Consume as many fresh fruit and veggies as possible. Avoid dairy, animal protein, fast foods, snack foods, and pastas. Ignite your body on a cellular level! Tamera at detoxyourway.com

COVID19 has definitely placed an importance on our health. Now, more than ever if is imperative that we fortify our body’s immune system through detoxification. Removing stagnant lymph throughout the body and removing mucus from the lungs and sinuses will assist in you in combating the virus. Use a netty pot and try decongestant herbs such as pleurisy, mullein, and fenugreek. But most importantly. STAY HOME and STAY SAFE Tamera at detoxyourway.com

The WILL to Heal It’s Already mid-March. Wow! And it’s been an interesting first few months in this new decade.  The corona virus epidemic has put a lot of things in perspective. First and foremost it reminds us that our health is one of the most precious things we have. Keep in mind that our level of vulnerability to this dangerous virus, or any would-be invader for that matter, is directly related to our body’s ability to eliminate metabolic waste and how much of that waste has already accumulated within the body. Viruses may definitely slow you down, but they mainly wreak the most havoc if the body’s internal environment is hospitable to it.  Therefore, the acidic waste must come out in order to strengthen the immune system. Start NOW. If you vowed to focus on your health at the start of 2020 then there is no better time to recommit than right now.  If you didn’t have a reason before, let the corona virus be the spark that ignites your Willpower now. Right now, this morning, fortify yourself with the affirmation that “I am healing myself through nature’s abundance. The living consciousness of fruit and herbs is my medicine.” Allow your WILL to come up from deep inside your heart to guide your choices and override temptation.  As we move into spring and possibly more public health challenges, know that focusing on detoxifying and regenerating your body are the most important things you can do for your immune system. Eat as much fruit as you can.  Drink as much fresh fruit juice as your can. (A citrus press makes it easy) And laugh as often as you can. Some of us were facing some real tough health issues even before this pandemic. But the WILL to Heal yourself is an act of pure self love and that is a powerful thing. As we continue to walk this road, let me know how I can help. Happy Detoxing, Tamera at Detoxyourway.com

I absolutely love the fall. My favorite time of the year hands down. The cooler weather, the changing colors, the time for reflection and rest. It’s a beautiful time of the year. There’s just one problem – I can’t find my favorite fruit – the Watermelon. Yes – I love watermelon. In the summer, you can find anywhere from 4-6 watermelons on my kitchen floor just waiting for more room in the fridge. I juice about 3-4 watermelons a week during the hotter months. And that’s not to forget the watermelon that I actually eat. Plus my dogs love it too. Nothing hydrates like a juicy watermelon. Much more hydrating that water (that goes for fruit juice in general), but even more so with watermelon. The cost is crazy affordable too. I can make about 1 gallon of juice from a medium sized watermelon. At roughly $4 – $5/per watermelon, you can bypass the $8-10/glass of cold-press juice at the “boutique juiceries” (as I like to call the abundance of juice spots that charge a small mint for 16 oz of fresh juice). But anyway! The only solution I have found is to ask the produce manager at my favorite grocery store to special order some for me. Most times they can get them, but through November – February it’s even hard for them to hunt good watermelons down. Okay! Now that I’ve let myself whine a little bit and properly vent, I can quietly go make some apple juice. Happy Detoxing!
